Tap what you're growing. We'll tell you exactly how much worm poop to deploy. (It's a technical term.)
π Houseplants
Mix 1 part castings to 3 parts potting mix, or top-dress Β½ inch and water in.
π‘ Your fiddle-leaf fig has trust issues. Castings won't burn it, so start small and watch it forgive you.
π₯ Veggie Garden
Side-dress 1β2 inches around plants, or mix a handful into each transplant hole.
π‘ Tomatoes are heavy feeders with zero shame. Give them the good stuff at planting time.
π± Seedlings
Mix 10β20% castings into seed-starting mix. Gentle enough not to burn babies.
π‘ Seedlings are like newborns: tiny, dramatic, and sensitive. Castings are the gentle grandparent of fertilizers.
π³ Trees & Shrubs
Spread 2β3 inches under the drip line, mulch over top.
π‘ The drip line is where the rain falls off the leaves β and where the feeder roots are waiting with tiny forks and knives.
π± Lawn
Top-dress ΒΌ inch and water in. Your grass will thank you.
π‘ A quarter inch doesn't look like much. That's the point β the microbes do the heavy lifting underground.
When in doubt, less is more to start. You can always add more castings β you can't un-add them. (Well, you could, but it'd be weird.)
