Bald Cypress: All Varieties
Bald cypress is a deciduous conifer native throughout Florida, and its cultivars solve the wild tree’s one landscape problem, which is size — from a narrow 50-foot column to an 8-foot dwarf. These are the documented, obtainable cultivars worth growing in Florida, each with its own full guide.
For the species in general, see the Bald Cypress native profile.
- Shawnee Brave Bald Cypress — The narrow bald cypress — a tall, pyramidal column for yards too small for a wild cypress.
- Cascade Falls Bald Cypress — The weeping bald cypress — serpentine, cascading branches for a focal point.
- Peve Minaret Bald Cypress — The dwarf bald cypress — a narrow, 8- to 10-foot column for small gardens.
