A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Cookies help a site remember things — like what’s in your cart — but they can also be used to track you around the internet. We keep ours to the first kind. This page explains, in plain language, what cookies Living Root Garden actually uses and how you can control them.
Strictly necessary cookies
These keep the site working. Without them, basic things break.
- WordPress and WooCommerce session cookies — these remember that you’re signed in and what’s in your cart while you browse.
- WPConsent consent preferences — these remember the cookie choices you made in our cookie banner, so we don’t have to ask you every visit.
Analytics cookies
We use Independent Analytics to count page views and visitors so we can tell which guides people actually read. It runs on our own site, needs no Google account, and does not track you across other websites or build advertising profiles. These cookies are opt-in: they only load if you accept the Statistics category in our cookie preferences.
Functionality cookies
These remember your preferences and make our tools work:
- WPLoyalty — powers the Points & Rewards program on your account.
- FluentCRM — handles the newsletter signup.
- Fluent Forms — powers the contact form and the garden-story form.
Order-attribution cookies
WooCommerce sets order-attribution cookies that help us see which pages led to an order. These are also opt-in under the Statistics category, and they only load if you accept Statistics cookies.
What we don’t use
We don’t run ads, and we have no marketing or advertising cookies on this site. A scan of our site found no marketing cookies at all.
Your choices
Cookie consent on this site is opt-in. When you first visit, our cookie banner asks what you’re comfortable with. You can change your mind any time using the floating cookie button on the page or the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings — just know that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break things like your cart and signing in.
